Two years into the beautiful relentlessness of motherhood I felt a strong need to ‘do’ something else with my life. A previous teacher with no urge to return to the gruelling profession of nurturing and moulding 30 tiny human beings that were not my own. This portion of my soul was now reserved for my two only. Motherhood had become my definition, my calling, a role I was more than willing to surrender to. But there was a part of me not totally fulfilled by the many, many hours of breastfeeding, rocking my babies to sleep, wiping their full soft cheeks after many a meal lovingly (but sometimes not so enthusiastically prepared). Always a creative at heart, I had an itch that wasn’t being scratched by the totality of motherhood. This is how Kate Vincent Photography was born.

An urgent desire to capture my own rapidly changing babies, led me to train in newborn photography. Safely posing and capturing snoozing newborns, sometimes only days earth-side. Whilst I loved, and do still love photographing the ‘perfect’ shot of your new little bundle, the connection between new parents and their visible outpouring of love for their new baby soon became my obsession. Witnessing a love story unfold before my very eyes and documenting it behind my lens is my passion and privilege.
